I moved up to the Peninsula three years ago to pursue my admiration for canine behavior and training. A once-lost passion was rekindled through the opportunity to photograph local rescue dogs. And thus, Fields to Focus Photography was created.
My free time is found best spent deep in the woods— on a backroad, no signal, with my dogs. We drive endlessly to not only scope out new locations for photo sessions but to also experience the wilderness's natural beauty.
These adventures made me feel drawn to share them with others. Not only to let dogs be dogs... but to also create these photographs that people can hold onto for a lifetime.
A love that began many years ago with the help of my thirteen-year-old Labrador, Meadow, has inspired me to share my photography. With the goal to cherish your pets and show off who they truly are.
My Approach
as a dog trainer
I don’t wear the title certified dog trainer lightly. Through countless hours of studying dog behavior, body language, and training—and by participating in an extensive mentorship—I’ve gained a unique depth of experience working in the field of dog photography.
I value safety, comfort, and flexibility in every session. I work at your dog’s pace to create a seamless experience for everyone involved. My questionnaire provides an in-depth look into who your dog is—not only helping me better understand their needs, but also allowing me to design a session that is as positive and stress-free as possible for your dog.
Regardless of your dog’s training background, I work within the skill set of the dog in front of me. There are countless ways to create meaningful images—even without basic cues. That’s where I come in: to guide the process and ensure an easy, enjoyable experience for everyone.
